SILVER SEPP BIO

Eesti muusikamaailmas võib Silver Seppa pidada üksi uitavaks trubaduuriks, kellel on tugev side muistse regilaulutraditsiooniga.

—-

In the landscape of Estonian music Silver Sepp can be regarded as a lone wandering troubadour who is connected to the ancient Estonian runo-song tradition. He approaches runo-song in his own unique way that appeals to contemporary audiences. He also has his own approach to making music in that he doesn’t use any conventional instruments familiar to the rest of us. He has developed on a traditional idea that everything you play as an instrument is taken from your surroundings. His fantastical instruments are all everyday objects from his farm. He takes old implements and blazes new trails with them, giving resonance to washing bowls, a bicycle wheel, a fish-netting stand, canalization tubes. With his voice he tells tales of great yearning, peace of mind, erosion, blossoming and homecoming. Silver Sepp has played in several well-known Estonian folk groups (RO:TORO, Svjata Vatra, Bombillaz etc.) and has given concerts all over Europe and North America. Now he has taken on the challenge of developing his solo performances, where he finds the most freedom to be unpredictable and the best channel to establish direct contact with the audience.
